Welcome Message

The day to day interaction between people seems to be more intense as time goes by. Or is it that human interaction has always been this way and the Information Age has brought everything to light?

When I watch this testimony about a former BMF member, it reminds me of how much it bothers me every time I hear the Rick Ross BMF song on the radio.  A person with a fake persona is able to spread the lies about a lifestyle he never lived to the masses while influencing children and adults.

Rick Ross is a former Correctional Officer that is just a great actor who stole his material from inmates while ear hustling their stories.  In Hollywood he would have to pay these inmates for the rights to their stories.  That is why he was sued by the real Rick Ross for getting rich off his name.  Unfortunately the real Rick Ross lost.

The fact that he is a fraud of persona does not bother me as much as the fact that he influences millions of people and glorifies a lifestyle that feeds the very system he used to work for.  Many do not realize that the prison system is big business and modern day slavery.  In hindsight I wouldn't be surprised of Rick Ross and people like him are mascots for the prison system business.

Smart people that I have come across that have really lived the lifestyle Rick Ross glorifies, downplay it.  It is not something they are proud of and they are glad to have found a way out; an alternative means of feeding their families.

Virginity: From The Auction Block to Your TV

Posted in , , , , , , ,

Within the past two years, "Virginity For Sale" has been a major public concern.  22 year old Natalie Dylan drove the media wild with her idea to auction her virginity for money to pay for her masters degree.

Why am I bringing this up?  This practice is making its way to Reality TV - which means it may become a topic at work, home and even your child's school.

Australian documentary maker Justin Sisely spent a year recruiting male and female candidates for the project.  Due to threats on his freedom, Sisely has moved the project from Australia to a Nevada brothel, where prostitution is legal.

The virgins will be paid $20,000 up front and receive 90% of their auction winnings. The other 10% will go to the brothel.

What many people won't know is that the idea of paying for virginity has been around since the days of Exodus and Deuteronomy.
Exodus 22:16-17:
If a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged to be married and sleeps with her, he must pay the bride-price, and she shall be his wife. If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, he must still pay the bride-price for virgins.
Deuteronomy 22:28-29:
If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

The concept of a virginity auctions has been around for  thousands of years.  This practice spans across the globe and touches every continent.  The selling or auctioning of the virginity was not always about being a whore.  For some cultures it was a right of passage or a way to honor a fertility god.

Daniel Defoe, a journalist, novelist and blogger of his time wrote "The Fortunes and Misfortunes of The Famous Moll Flanders" in 1722.  The story of  Moll Flanders is of a woman who was born inside of a prison and struggled to make something of herself in a world separated by class.  In an effort to get out of the life of being a servant to whores, Moll auctions off her virginity to the highest bidder. The money motivated Moll to continue the trade where eventually she upgraded to being a kept woman, another form of prostitution in the eyes of some.

The bidders for Natalie Dylan were anonymous to the public, but merely wanted to be "the guy who got it."  The man who bid $3.7 million put down a $250,000 non-refundable deposit after a recent divorce from is wife.  His wife reconciled with him after learning about his plans.  She was $250,000 too late, but stopped him from spending the whole $3.7 million.

Of course Natalie was backed and marketed by Dennis Hof, owner of The Moonlight Bunny Ranch, a Nevada brothel, which has been made famous The Moonlight Bunny Ranch has received two documentaries and two reality show seasons on HBO documenting the overall business.
Ironically for some, but not me...Natalie is a Women's Studies major.

Some people say that behavior like this is a sign that the end of the world is near.  I laugh when I hear this.  It may be the end of their world but "this type of S**t happens every day." It may not happen in your suburb or in your neighborhood, but in this world of traditions, greed, survival and human trafficking, capitalism and virginity will collide.

Review: Inspirational Book From The Mother of Shaquille O'Neal - Lucille O'Neal

Posted in , , , , , , , ,

"Walk Like You Have Somewhere to Go: From Mental Welfare to Mental Health," discusses the life and growth of Lucille O'Neal.  This autobiography explores the trials and mistakes of her life and the lessons learned.  Lucille O'Neal wants to let people women know that it is never to late to change and enjoy life.

"Walk Life You Have Somewhere to Go" was very inspiring.  Each chapter represented a new challenge for Lucille and also a new level of growth.  I truly enjoyed Lucille O'Neal's honesty.  She looked her own flaws and mistakes right in the face and then used them to improve her life and enlighten others.  The reader gets to feel what it is like to struggle as a military wife, while rasing a family and battling alcoholism.
I never thought about what its like for a mother to send her son off to the NBA.  I always assumed the transitions from college to the NBA were flawless and only considered the material changes.  After reading her perspective on in the cultivating of an NBA superstar, I now have a new respect for athletes and their families.

This book is great for people who enjoy inspiring stories, but also for those who want to take a look inside the childhood of NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal.

Touching Lives

Posted in , , , , , ,

Last month I wrote a blog post about a woman in Clayton County that lost her baby due to a police brutality incident during an Animal Control misunderstanding.  Her name is Shennielle Youhoing-Nanan and she left me a comment last week to thank me for reporting the facts.

I was thrilled to know that I had touched Shennielle Youhoing-Nanan's life, but it was especially flattering to receive a thank you from her during all of her grief.

As I make my way around Atlanta, I run into people that appreciate my posts, have questions,  or have feedback - Submit them!  I would love to hear from you.

"Can't No Dog Worry This Pussy Cat" Part 2

Posted in , , , , , ,

After reading "Can't No Dog Worry This Pussy Cat" by Okeeba Jubalo and Zach Davis, I just had to interview them.  I really wanted to know where they were coming from.

Make sure you revisit "Can't No Dog Worry This Pussy Cat" Part 1 and my review on RashaEntertainment.com.

Let me know what you think.

Candace
:  What moment prompted you two to write this book?

Okeeba Jubalo:  "I wanted to write this book for the women that continue to make mistake after mistake in their relationships. It's amazing how much women do not know about men...the major problem is that women take advice about men from other women. I felt the need to give the ladies a chance to hear the truth about how we really work. The truth that is not filtered by a big time publisher or some manager that thinks that it's a bad move to tell a woman reader that she may need a good shrink. "
Zach Davis:  "After we wrote our first book "Roses & Brass Knuckles- A Man's Pocket Guide To Winning The Dating & Marriage Game", the response from our female fans was so great that I felt we had to give back to the women. There's a lot of books out there that leave women misguided and undecided by not being realistic and honest with women."

Candace:
Are there more books planned for the future?
Zach Davis:  "Yes we plan on doing more, like Okeeba said we left a lot out and we get asked more questions everyday that people want to hear our opinions on regarding relationships and life in general"

Okeeba Jubalo:  "Yes...we are only getting started. There is sooooo much that we did not write."

Candace:  In the book you mentioned that you have daughters, based on the changes in the times and the increased focus on the lack of available black men in the media, are you concerned with  the choices available to your daughters in the future, despite your teachings?

Okeeba Jubalo:  "Hell yeah I am worried for my daughters because of the shortage of 'good' black men in AmeriKKKa. Let's not be fooled and please understand that this mess that is going on is by AmeriKKKa's design. However, this book crosses all races in AmeriKKKan KKKulture.
Asian, Spanish & White girls make mistakes too, not just women of African descent."
Zach Davis:  "I'm not worried about our daughters because I know they will have the upper hand with the knowledge we are instilling in them about men of all races. Now hopefully our words will help others and their children so that we can start to see a change in that trend in African American men and women. We can only put it down and hopefully some pick it up"

Candace:
Will there be speaking engagements and tours?

Okeeba Jubalo:
"Yeah. We are putting together our book tour that will start this Spring/Summer. This starting focus will be in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina, & Florida. We are also planning on doing the college scene and forming our PUSSY CAT Book Clubs.
Stay tuned for the CD and the talk show that we are putting together."
Zach Davis:  "What he said! Seriously though we are putting together a book tour, we are available for book clubs, and we will be throughout Atlanta this spring at different venues for book signings not just at the same old bookstores, we're coming to the people!"

Candace:  Do you find that it is difficult to find good women in the Atlanta area?
Zach Davis:  " I'm married so I'm not looking, but my friends sure have a hard time. In Atlanta we have the quanity, but there are a lot that lack the quality is what I always here. Good looks and a good career alone don't make you good woman or marriage material"

Okeeba Jubalo:  "HELL YEAH...LIKE LOOKING FOR A GRAIN OF SUGAR IN A 100 LB BAG OF SALT!"
LOL...just kidding...kinda."

"Can't No Dog Worry This Pussy Cat" Part 1

Posted in , , , , , , , , , , ,

People have always asked me where I get my knowledge on relationships, my response has always been the same; male friends and mistakes.  Watching and observing how men really feel about women and their actions was the best education I could have ever had, next to learning from my own mistakes.  I learned the game early and didn't follow the typical rules of relationships, but in the end I found my soul mate.  Had I not made my mistakes, had I followed the typical rules,or had I not paid attention to and asked questions of the men around me, I would have never found the love of my life.

It's not always easy for women to make new-truly platonic friends, especially once they get closer to and beyond 30.  So what do you do?  Read "Can't No Dog Worry This Pussy Cat: A Woman's Pocket Guide to Getting a Good Man and Keeping Him," by Okeeba Jubalo and Zachary Davis.

The duo covers issues such as:

  • Taking advise from negative friends
  • Holding out on intimacy
  • Gold Diggers
  • Settling
  • Self-Esteem
  • Cheating
  •  Unhappy, Desperate and Crazy Women
In order to really accept their knowledge and receive the benefits of this book, you need to really take an honest look at yourself and your previous interaction with the opposite sex.  It took me three hours to get through this book because I just could not seem to put it down.  Statements made in "Can't No Dog Worry This Pussy Cat" are jaw dropping and utterly amazing, yet they are very true.  The tone is direct, straight to the point, with no sugar-coating.  Visit http://rosesnbrassknuckles.com/ for more information.

Be sure to sure to check out my review of "Can't No Dog Worry This Pussy Cat" for Rasha Entertainment.

Clayton County Police Kill A Baby

Posted in

Clayton County wrongfully sent more than two dozen officers to  Shennielle Youhoing-Nanan's house over an Animal Control violation.

The worst part about it is that Shennielle was not even guilty of the Animal Control violation.  Internal Affairs has received the report and the County departments have no comment.

This report came from AJC.com
Jones said Youhoing-Nanan was rousted from her home in bedclothes and paraded into the street partially naked. He said she was taken to a hospital after emergency medical personnel determined she needed care. He also said she was taken to jail after her hospital discharge.
Jones said Youhoing-Nanan began bleeding because of the rough treatment, and that a doctor whom she visited later could testify that she suffered a miscarriage.
"Witnesses can say the knee in the back is what caused the heavy bleeding," Jones said. "It was like a SWAT team raid ... certainly an overreaction for dogs."
 Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad!
